About Us
Lives Shaped by Missions
From India to Uruguay to Grand Rapids; the journey God has written for Subash and Sandra Muthyala.

Subash's Calling Begins
At just seven years old, Subash trusted Christ as his Savior, a faith rooted in a family already given to God’s service. His parents and grandparents had served in missions, pastoral ministry, and theological education across India. The calling was not inherited, it was personal.

Sandra Finds the Gospel
On the other side of the world, in Uruguay, a teenage girl raised in a nominally Catholic home encountered the living Gospel through the faithful witness of missionary neighbors. Sandra was saved and discipled at nineteen, a living testament to what cross-cultural missions makes possible.

15 Years on the Field
Subash and Sandra met at Bible college in the United States. They got married and served as missionaries in India for fifteen years, engaged in every facet of church planting, evangelism, discipleship, and leadership development. They poured their lives into training indigenous leaders and establishing local churches. India was not just their mission field; it was their home.

An Unexpected Turn
Unforeseen circumstances brought the Muthyalas back to the United States, not by choice, but by providence. They found themselves waiting, working various jobs to support their family while keeping their eyes open for God’s next open door. It was a season of faith, not failure, and God was not finished with them.

A New Door Opens
Their pastor introduced Subash and Sandra to Bibles International; the Bible Society wing of Baptist Mid-Missions. As the vision for worldwide Scripture translation was shared, something stirred in both of them. BI’s Director described needs within the Advancement team, and the Muthyalas knew immediately this was the ministry they had been praying for.

Serving with Bibles International
Subash and Sandra joined the BI Advancement Team, building relationships with churches and individuals, presenting the worldwide need for Bible translation, and inviting others to partner. Their missionary experience and multicultural backgrounds made them uniquely equipped. Though different from their work in India, they knew it was equally vital to the mission.

Official BMM Appointees
Subash and Sandra were officially received as Baptist Mid-Missions appointees, a milestone marking a new chapter in a lifetime of faithful service. Sent by Highland Hills Baptist Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan, they continue to advance the cause of Scripture translation worldwide. The journey that began in India and Uruguay is still being written.
